Mobile Prices in Saudi Arabia August 2011

Asslam O Alekum and Ramadan Kareem. More than half of the Holy month of Ramadan and half of the month of August has passed. This time I got a little late this time to post the latest prices of latest smartphones available in Saudi Arabia. Because all the duty hours in offices, shops and companies are changed and it is difficult for a lot of people to manage time. You may see I have not included few models of Nokia because hardly I got prices of these models and the rest, are in rest for the time being :-)



But I have included prices of a few models from HTC too that were not available in Smartphone July prices. So enjoy the prices and forgive me If I made any mistake in it, please point it out so that I can correct.

Which is better Smartphone HTC ChaCha or Nokia E6

HTC ChaCha and Nokia E6 are the smartphones that are very close in their specification and features but different in brands. Both of them have similar look, similar QWERTY keyboard and screen sizes. Both of them were announced during very close time period, i.e. early in 2011. As I am also a big fan of QWERTY keyboard as I have hands on experience on Nokia E71 and E72, so I thought to compare latest offers from HTC and Nokia with each other. The comparison would not go long in speach but it would be a specification comparison like the one I did for iPhone 4 and Desire HD.

Google Adsense Official Arabic Blog

I just came to know about Google Adsense Arabic blog from Google Adsense's Fan page at Facebook. The blog is located here. And there are quite amazing articles and information in arabic is available, as I gone through the blog I have found there are already 23 posts there on the blog. So it is not a brand new thing.

As Google Adsense is getting popular in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, this Arabic blog would be a nice asset for all the people who are native Arabic and have less or no understanding of English language.

Nokia Mobile Prices in Pakistan August 2011

Nokia mobile phones are getting a poor demand world wide these days. This is probably because of Nokia's policies. Nokia is unable to provide an advanced mobile operatings system like iOS or Android operating systems. That's why Nokia mobile prices are getting down with the time in Pakistan. Repairing Corrupted USB Pen Drives with HP Format Utility

Recently one of my USB pen drive got corrupted. Windows 7 built in format utility was unable to format it. I tested it windows vista and windows xp. But it seems all kind of Windows operating systems are unable to handle this issue. The USB flash is Kingston manufacturer and it was 128GB that might be an expensive gadget for a lot of people these days. It was about 120 US $ when purchased, so loosing this device would be a not easy option for me, I started searching over google how to repair this kind of corrupted USB or how to repair corrupted usb pen drive.

In the mean time I also tested it via Ubuntu linux but it didn’t work for me. A lot of people recommended me right click my computer icon in windows and choose Manage option. Then go to disk management and delete the partition, change drive letter and then re format it, it didn’t work also. Another blog recommended me to check for file system errors in drive properties, that I was trying all day long and it didn’t work too. Then I found a recommendation by Martin Brinkmann at ghacks.net

Getting Adsense money in Saudi Arabia via Western Union

Finally on 21st July 2011, I have received my first Google Adsense payment via Western Union Quick Cash. Actually it was my second payment issued by Google Adsense. First payment was issued by check a few months ago. However I couldn't cash that check because Payee Name was not correct in that. Google Adsense suggested me to close my Adsense account and apply for a new one. I did the same way and Google Adsense sent my balance amount with wrong payee name. That check is still with me & it is more than 6 months old now. So I don’t expect I could cash it anymore.

Later on I created another account and it was approved hardly, this time I submitted correct Payee Name as per my local documents and also changed payment method from “Check” to “Western Union Quick Cash”

When my Google Adsense income reached 10 SU $, Google Adsense sent me a Pin via my postal address. That reached to me within 2, 3 weeks then I added that PIN into my account. That verified my physical existence to Google Adsense people. After that upon reaching 100 US $ balance finally I found that my payment was sent on 25th of the month.

As per my selection this time Payment was sent via Wester Union Quick Cash. I visited Western Union website and try to locate my payment with MTCN and sender name but website has give me following error.

How to set OsCommerce Directory Permissions

As per oscommerce default. You should set following directory permissions via any FTP client e.g Filezilla. Please do the following steps.

• After installation delete install folder.
• Reset the permissions on /includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top set configure.php to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons).
• Set the permissions on /images directory to 777.
• Reset the permissions on /admin/includes/configure.php to 644.
• Create the dir /admin/backups and set the permissions to 777.
• Set the permissions on /admin/images/graphs directory to 777.
• Set the permissions on /admin directory to 755.

You need to .htaccess your /admin directory so that it is password protected. You can use the password manager in your server admin area like cpanel.
